Swarovski and Victoria Secret Collaborate for 2008

SWAROVSKI are proud to announce their collaboration with Australian designer JENNY MANIK MERCIAN who was invited to design hand crafted couture jewellery creations, using CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements for the 2008 Victoria’s Secret Runway Show held on November 15th 2008 in Miami, Florida.

JENNY MANIK MERCIAN launched her first range of hand crafted couture jewellery during Australian Fashion Week in 2005 and has, since 2006, repeatedly designed for Victoria’s Secret. Swarovski are honored to be collaborating with Jenny who has once again chosen to use CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements to create a dazzling sparkle to her outstanding collection.

SWAROVSKI RUNWAY ROCKS are also thrilled to announce the loan of four crystal couture catwalk pieces to the 2008 Victoria’s Secret Runway Show.

RUNWAY ROCKS is an internationally acclaimed couture collection of spectacular catwalk jewels, commissioned by Swarovski from the most cutting-edge international designers. In each of these one-of-a-kind creations, crystal, the timelessly modern material of the moment, is the shining hero. RUNWAY ROCKS designs are provocative and inspirational, challenging conventions of jewellery, sculpture and body ornament, exploring form, volume, movement and light, finding new expressions for crystal creativity. It is a perfect and natural addition to such an exciting and momentous event such as the 2008 Victoria’s Secret Runway Show.

Pieces created by milliner PHILIP TRAECY, jewellery designer LUIGI SCIALANGA and award winning costume designer ALEX BYRNE all using CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements will be included in the show. A delicate piece made by designer FRANCIS MERTENS using ENLIGHTENED™ Swarovksi Gemstones has also been chosen to walk down the runway.
