The Snow Queen, Ballet

Swarovski Crystal has chosen to support one of the world’s leading ballet Companies, English National Ballet, for their new production of The Snow Queen. The costumes will come to life with the adornment of hundreds of thousands of Crystallized Swarovski Elements, accenting the movement of the dancers and adding light and sparkle to the stage.

Choreographed by Michael Corder, The Snow Queen is spectacular and majestic; a theatrical presentation drawing its inspiration from the fairy tale world of Hans Christian Andersen’s winter story. Costume designer Mark Bailey used over 2,400 bespoke crystal transfers in the shapes of snowflakes and branches to embellish the costumes of the 64 dancers.

English National Ballet’s full orchestra plays Julian Philips’s arrangement of Prokofiev’s glorious music. The Snow Queen is Michael Corder’s third new work for English National Ballet; the award-winning Cinderella and Melody on the Move were received with standing ovations and critical acclaim both across the UK and internationally.
