MICHAEL JACKSON: THE OFFICIAL EXHIBITION - London 2009

Devoted fans get a glimpse of what was to be the spectacular final tour for the King of Pop, at the much anticipated MICHAEL JACKSON: THE OFFICIAL EXHIBTION, celebrating the King of Pop’s unparalleled career and showcases more than 200 items, including some of the most personal and iconic memorabilia from his extraordinary life, across nine different themed galleries at The O2 in London.

When Michael Jackson set foot on the stage at the O2 arena, it would have been history in the making.  Adding to the spectacular event, New York fashion designer Zaldy was commissioned to design a number of the costumes for the “THIS IS IT” tour, which were set to revolutionize the art of costume design. With access to more than 300 specially made crystal transfers created from more than four million stones, spanning 36km and taking more than 150 hours to create by hand, Zaldy pushed the boundaries of crystal innovation.  These dazzling new creations are on display alongside a collection of historic costumes from Jackson’s performances as part of MICHAEL JACKSON: THE OFFICIAL EXHIBITION. The exhibition is on display at The O2 for three months, before travelling to two other cities.  Venues and dates will be announced in coming months.  The exhibition is organi zed by Arts and Exhibitions International (AEI), the company behind the blockbuster Tutankhamun and Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition, and curated by Robert Santelli of the Los Angeles-based GRAMMY Museum.
