"The collection has a teenage rebellion feel, taking inspiration from the American indie TV show ‘Freeks and Geeks”. It has an eccentric mix of styles, with a slightly retro “rock and roll’, high school slant. We wanted the Swarovski crystals to exaggerate this rebellious attitude and chose the crystal yarn to knit loose weave jumper dresses. They have an unexpected quality as the tiny crystals weave their way in and out of the yarn, and when they are under the lights, they glimmer and shine in different graphic colours. We also incorporated different pendant crystals in shades of pink within our embroidered “junk dresses.” The pendants sparkle between plates of boiled plastic, adding depth and movement to accentuate their impact."
