Basso & Brooke - London Autumn/Winter 2008

"We have been looking at Iconic Architecture for this season, referencing Frank O. Gehry, Norman Foster, Oscar Niemeyer, Zaha Hadid. The prints are an abstract representation of urban scenarios: rippled images makes allusion to the reflex of the city's movement in the water or through mirrored buildings. The silhouette is more sculpted and rounded, with some pieces exploring an almost topiary effect. We're exploring textures & depths, embedding Swarovski crystals into rich embellished pieces. We've also used the Crystal Pearls in different shades of grey to recreate aerodynamic forms. We wanted the crystals to be very much integrated into the actual fabrication of the garments."
